AC (alternating current) is seldom employed in Mobile River robots since about of it are powered with address electric current (DC) amounting by electric battery*. Also, since electronic elements use DC, it is more convenient to have the same type of power add for the actuators as well. AC drives are in the main used in industrial environments where very high torque is asked, or wherever the motors are affiliated to the brinies / bulwark electric outlet.
